The reason is simple. With Matt Joyce at the helm, years of experience and an upbringing in the construction business results in quality. Empire’s approach with their clients sets them apart. “We’re very personable with them,” Matt says. “We’re accessible seven days a week. I visit all of my job sites daily and I am available to meet with people all the time. My cell phone number is on my business card.”
These are just a few reasons clients have returned to ask Matt to oversee not only their home construction, but also business construction, home additions and renovations. It’s how Empire acquires additional business – client satisfaction leads to referrals for new projects.
Matt, who grew up in Florida, is a fourth generation building contractor. He spent his childhood summers in New England and worked as an apprentice carpenter alongside his grandfather and uncles in the family construction business. When Matt went into the construction business, here in Central Florida, he worked for a company building 50-60 homes a year. There he discovered that wasn’t the best way to operate, at least in terms of customer satisfaction and quality of work.
Empire Custom Builders was launched in 2003. Matt’s vision with his new company was to build only a small amount of projects annually and his motto is to build “Promises made, promises kept.”
Over the years, Matt has built homes and remodeling projects throughout prestigious neighborhoods in the Central Florida area including Lake Forest, Spruce Creek Fly-In, Alaqua, Wingfield Reserve, and many others. Empire currently builds in Riviera Bella, Lake Markham Preserve, and Magnolia Plantation, as well as on their client’s individual lots.
The company offers a wide range of projects. Prices for homes start in the $ 100,000s and go beyond $ 1 million. Empire also builds offices, industrial buildings, and restaurants, as well as a few renovation projects per year.
Projects are all one-of-a-kind custom – a charge Matt takes quite seriously. He spends ample time designing them with his clients, not only before groundbreaking but also throughout construction. He helps every client value engineer their project to get the most for there dollar and help reduce construction time.
Matt says, “We build architecture. We build history. What we leave is a legacy. I really enjoy that side of it.”
